got to see the new guy and he gave me the best christmas present a women can get . his love,my guy actually admitted that he loves me,not bad huh???my poor baby has too work the day and night shift today for the next couple of days. in fact he had to get up at 5:30 this morning to start his shift.holidays have been pretty good including a roast beef dinner at friends house.got lot of cool stuff including a 12 pack of choclate and vanilla pudding( yum pudding).does this make sense,went to the fields store to buy boots to find they were out but they had plenty of shoes left.apparently people here in hope still wear shoes in winter huh???for a small town hope was pretty busy in the last couple days before xmas. even getting a cab proved a test in patience.

i know its only been a couple says since my last blog but so many things have been going on. that i had to write about them.first because of the cold weather that hit hope some of the suites lost hot water,that was fixed only to discover my suite had the extra treat of having a frozen water line that leads to the toliet,since i didn't have a proper bathroom.mama Mabel moved me to another suite.winter has arrived big time.amazing amount of snow and wind.payday today running doing chores and stuff,got to see my man early today whinch is nice.received a xmas card from my friends in trail..played santa myself delivering xmas cards.tommorrow is hamper dsy,

well in previous blogs i mentioned the fact winter hasn't hit here yet. somebody was paying attention,boy, has it been cold. the mount hope hot water pipes froze.they have since been fixed.to deal with the cold mama mabel gave me a heater. saw the new guy, this last weekend to say it was amazing would be an understatement,,unfortunately didn't get to see him for long on saturday due to work.cant wait for Wednesday for two reasons , one its payday and two i get to see him.i have so much respect fo his friendship.may god bless this union.thursday is Christmas hamper day.can't wait to see what they give us.thank god for mama mabel and her counseling, xmas is hard, but thanks to her and others i can deal with it.to my many friends and family across canada ,god bless and merry Christmas

saw the new man early yesterday morning before he left for the island( after work) was anxious about seeing him since i didn't see him on friday,thought he didn't want to see me. i was wrong of course.turns out he was just to tired after his shift that night.even with my dental issuses iam being execpted by him and others.called my girlfriend michelle here in hope to arrange a get together,would like to meet for breakfeast on the 17th,hope to reach her soon.busy christmas season with xmas dinners and picking up of the christmas hamper.met jack the psycho dog this last weekend,actually he not that bad he just very protective of his masters unborn baby. in contrast, mabels son weiner dog murphy love me,maybe beacuse i sneaked snack to him.apparently the holidays brings alot of inner demons out of people,thank god for mama mabel and others who try to make things better. gorden dean is one who demons have caught up with him,he tried to killed the demons with booze and ended up hurting him self.may god help him.one last note,today would of been my moms 67th birthday.happy birthday mom, love you.

head is spinning,since i started to see this new guy,is it serious?? don't know yet.but a strong friendship is growing. finally had a meal at Sharon's deli,here in hope.is 8 bucks to much for a beef dip sandwich and chips??not sure but it was sure good.winter has finally hit hope sort a, in stead of snow we are getting rain,cold temperatures are here so hopefully we get snow soon.because of the cold temperature, i put plastic on my windows to keep the cold weather out,it was so cozy in my place i slept through the alarm that was suppose to wake me up in time to help mama Mabel sell homemade crafts at the local Christmas craft fair,for the mount hope Christmas dinner.apparently nobody was buying at at the fair so she left early.

in the last couple of months,my faith in human beings was all but destroyed but thanks to a a new man in my life, iam feeling better about things.it 3:57 am, and i can't sleep. he left 45 minutes heading to the island(he has a house out there)after his shift.if i could stand in the complexs parking lot and howl at the moon i would, but this early in the morning, mabel would kill me.

sorry it took so long for me to write this.it been busy around here.last saturday was civic election time here,my friend john was running for council for the second time,he ran before unsucessfully..thanks to mama mabel i was able to get a ride to the polls.mama mabel grandson chris and his finacee, came down(or is it up) from salmo bc to vistit and to show off stepahie(chris's finacee) babys bump, she due april 8.no snow yet, keep hoping.downtown hope is busy with everybody getting ready for christmas,got , my little christmas tree up,it once belong to a tennant who passed on( thanks bill).

been an active four days in the complex, mabel sons came by for a visit,one traveling all the way from the okanagan with wiener dogs in tow.best wishes to don mcfee, a tenant here who recovering from prostate cancer surgery,can you say ouch.my respsect for mama mabel grows everyday,for years i been wearing a a partial bridge to make for the ones i lost,well diaster almost struck, one of the teeth on the bridge broke, figures when i dont get dental till january,so mama mable superglue the tooth to the bridge, beleive or not it worked,pretty cool huh??makes me wonder if that how the dentist does it,except he charges 150 dollars for it.best wishes go out to thorndike pickledish,alterego mr smith.first on the occasion of his 66 birthday,second and most inportant of all his record breaker attempt in las vegas.in an old blog i mentioned how i pissed off telus by canceling my services, well i found how mad they were, when i called to dicuss my account.i dont what was worse, being screamed at or being hung up.so much for customer service.

almost four am and i cant sleep so iam listening to tina turner and blogging.halloween was fairly quiet with the occasinal firework.mabel friend robin dropped by in her halloween costume, a haunted chef,with it its own spider and rat(toys of course), robin is a school bus driver, so she got to wear it at school,and execpt for some jw kids,the chidren seemed to love it.the funniest moment came when she got to greet mabel son(john) in the costume at bus depot,apparently his reaction was priceless.tne mount hope had no kids, so that meant we got to eat the candy, yummy!!! (sorrry the innner child).daylight saving started this last weekend, now it gets dark at 5pm.boy i miss summer. heard this on tv the other day only 54 days until xmas.hows that for ending a blog on a depressing note.till nex time.

i think this can only happen in a small town. first, the soup kitchen whinch is suppose to be open tuesday and thursdays was closed today(there would be riots in vancouver if they did that there)headed to the libary to discover brand new sliding doors in the rec centre, and them suffering from leaky condo symdrome. it looks like a sceince fiction movie( just in time for haloween) with all the blue tarp everywhere,soon they will forget what daylight feel like. for the tarp blocks their sun.so much for the libary being a peaceful place.

it was an interesting 5 days. with missed e-mails, cancelled phone( including internet).the cancelled internet proved to be a blessing,since iam discovering a brand new town.met some amazing hippies ( from nelson bc) at the blue moose( a local coffee house) they were heading to vancouver.we talked so long that i ended staying longer than planned.mama mabel made cabbage rolls, for dinner absloutely amazing, one of her best dishes. it hit me how close christmas is really is when mama mabel made the statemenf that we are go to start making christmas wreaths tommorrow to sell at craft fairs so we had xmas dinner money, wish us luck.

it been quite the week first an unplanned trip to the dentist.turns out i have an infected tooth,so iam on the blues pills, until further notice. on the piss off people move of the week, i have pissed off telus by cancelling both my internet and my phone,got the traditional spiel about my credit.cant see how it can get any worse.sitting in a internet cafe drinking a mocha,meeting interesting people, like the family who dropped in after the kids karate class for a quick hot chocolate, or the university student doing homework over the internet and keeps having to buy more time.in the unexpected moment so far this week. mabel son was asleep on his mom couch,when it dawned on me, he's cute.he's seven years older than me(51)hmmmmm!!! stayed tuned you never know (LOL)

the 13th was thanksgiving and once again mama mabel, came through with an amazing dinner whinch included pumpkin pie.she explained to me why she does it.she does it because for a lot the tenants living in the complex,holiday are very diffcult to deal with.and she hopes providing dinner makes the pain a little more bearable.next day was election day and soup kitchen.thanks to mama mabel again i was able to vote,polling stations in small town,resemble a social with all the people you run into.as for the soup kitchen,well it live up it name.with soup,half a pastry and a bun for lunch.thank goodness for the rice and salmon dinner( guess who) i had.the jaw dropping moment from yesterday came when james corbert( famous goverment conspirator) last seen heading for califorina,showed up at the complex looking for bread.looking like james but a little worse for wear..thats it for now. god bless and peace

i know it only been a day but some pretty interesting thing have been happening.went grocery shopping and for the first time i actually bought some healthy for me, organic mustard.i guess it offset the cookies( chocolate chips) and pop i got.yesterday(sunday) was a special day at the mount hope,gordon dean, a tenant here had a birthday,he got the traditional birthday cake.no money in it.poor mabel, she keeps trying to help Gerald and he seems resist to it.she bought him a new pair of pants it took him no time to add a new odor to his general smell. iam grateful for the characters in my complex.other wise my blog would be very boring.

4:30 early monday morning can't sleep maybe blogging will help. from 6am to 10am, saturday morning we had no power( they were up grading the system),hope is very dark scary and most important of all very boring place without power.lousy weather has cause the mount hope complex to hibernate this past weekend, i hate to admit it that included me.so much for an exciting weekend.hoping to go grocery shopping tommorrow,stay tuned.

it looks like summer is not quite done yet.one of my favorite places to hang out on a Saturday night before my accident( more on that later),the stationhouse has cancelled the weekend jam sessions held there.no further details were given,but rumours are flying around that poor management and lack of interest led to it downfall..mama mabel became a robbery victim this past weekend,somebody stole the propane tank off the barbecue her son gave her as a gift,i know it a small theft.but all she does for the community i think it shows disrespect towards her and the work she does.

it been almost two weeks since my last blog, wow!!!time seems to go fast these days.monday is the first day of fall.you can really it feel here in hope, it been nothing but raining the last couple of days and been getting darker earlier and earlier.went to facebook to contact some of my old school buddies to see if they would respond, to my surprise they have.it nice seeing and hearing what the old gang been up too.seen around the mount hope complex,Gerald walking around with no shoes( just sock with holes in them).no coat in the rain.told mabel,she hoping he'll get sick a little so she can get him the help he needs. in political news, john the cab driver will be running for city council office.he ran 4 years and barely lost so he figured he'd try again.go john!!! one last thing got complimented by two men in the last couple day( one was 78 years old)there might be hope for me yet.(LOL)that it for now and god bless.

it almost 4am early Monday morning cant sleep. so i figured i would use all that energy to write my blog. can't believe it been almost two weeks since my last blog.lots has happened.they replaced my tiny bar fridge with a huge frost free fridge,beyond cool. or what.busy weekend, the last summer celebration was held here in hope.fireworks, demolition derby, pancake breakfast,wood craving contest,perhaps the best part was the parade, they did pretty good for a small town.except some of the people who took part should try a little harder next year to decorate their entry ( MacDonald's just had a red pickup,pulling a McDonald's trailer).mama Mabel keep saying that we(the mount hope)should put a float in next year ,with signs thanking the community for all their help.you never know.in the last month four people have left the complex,two by not they own choice if you know what i mean.it so calm here now. could the mount dope( the old name)be finally dead.lets hope so,well thats it now. god bless and peace

i don't think life can get any better than this, its the day before welfare day and iam sitting in bachelor suite.playing games on my computer.mama mabel made rice with salmon for dinner, we got to put what ever salad dressing we wanted on it, i put ranch on the first serving and thousand island on the second.how this cool we had game night tonight(took place at mama mabels) at the mount hope,played the guy in number 5(ed).cant wait to for a rematch so i can wipe the smirk off his face(LOL).got the coolest lamp from mabel.it sitting on my coffee table,next to my stereo(with a non working record player). i think the days of 35 degrees weather have past(watch it be 35 tomorrow)right now its cold and raining.mabels grandson chris and his fiancee dropped in for a visit,spoke to him on the phone,gave him my best wishes.that it for hope news for now.peace and god bless.

on a borrowed computer,due to the fact mine has software issues.whinch will be fixed by friday.hows this for hitting to close to home.the place in prince george where one of our extended family(Gordon dean) stays has burnt down, there's even two people missing.wow somebody was looking out for him.due to health reasons iam off real sugar.i drink diet pop and use equal instead, boy you can really tell the difference.i miss the sugar high.mama mabel gave me the cooliest yellow hoodie jacket, it even came with pockets.fall is fast approaching,all day it been raining here. and the sun goes down move quickly

some amazing things have been going on sinced i last blogged.connected with an old e-mail buddy and his wife(newlyweds) from San Fran , who owns a restaurant there .and promised a free meal if i ever get there.on the strange and usual side,Danita who never knocks on my door,did just that with an offering of olive oil and 30 pee wee eggs.share some of the eggs with my neighbour,the olive oil traded to mama mabel for some pop money.arrangement are being made for lunch next week, cant wait to see old friends and of course get a free t-shirt.sad day at the mount hope one of the extended family have been called home,miss you bill. a small celebration of his life with some tenants and a lot of family was held last evening.

actually did something useful today, went to the rec centre here in hope where they have all the public stuff(library and the gym, pool) where i had the best burger at a place called the 6 ave cafe,with apologies to Mr.smith,after i ate did manage to go to the above mention libary return stuff, pay some fines and pick up the coolest DVD(kissology) on the planet.never seen some one with nothing appreciating something,like i did yesterday,mama mabel made cabbage rolls for everyone.and when the guy found he could have some he couldn't believe it. he kept repeating really.in the end they were enjoyed by all.here something to ponder could mama Mabel be the new mother Theresa for our times hmmmm!!well,she is sure is is a god sent

well, it almost payday only 26 hours to go.believe it or not you do count the hours until your check comes in . today is going to be extra tough.since there is no soup kitchen.let hope we can find a solution quick to that problem.mama Mabel even supports what we are trying for.in other hope news(LOL) summer has finally hit, so much for it being a dark gloomy place as reported falsely on youtube.they finally started work on the Tim Horton's,comfort inn next door.timbits here i come .peace for know and god bless

once again it took me to long to write this blog.the 14 of this month marked two months in hope.i guess hope is a fitting tittle for this town,.because after surving the hell of the downtown eastside, never thought i could feel normal like i do now.heck, i even have my own computer with internet.once a week the local food bank brings up bread and sweets for the the complex,so far i 've received pecan butter tart and double chocolate chip cookies,so much for maintaining my figure.there has been talk about a bunch of people getting together and starting a soup kitchen out here.since curremtly hope is lacking in such things.last but not least i would like to thank all those who supported me when i needed it.with a special shout out going to Thorndike pickledish.

i know it been only a day since i blog but so many thing have happened. first, a family member from the mount hope,returned.Gorden dean after a horrible visit in prince george with his family returned this afternoon.luckily he was able to get a suite.since i moved back here i have become friends with a polish lady name Danita,i think she like the fact she gets to speak Russian with someone.mama Mabel took in another wayward traveller.even giving him some food and a place to sleep for a couple hours until he hits the road again(he heading for trail bc).ordered pizza for dinner, shared the three last pieces with the 78 old man who never has a bath.he loved it.

cant believe it has been 6 days since my last blog.sorry about that.this my first blog on my own computer.you wouldn't believe the drama i had to endure just to get the Internet running. i mentioned a couple of blogs ago on my modem wasn't working ,well they send out a tech guy. he really earned his 25 bucks an hour.ended up calling dell,and getting their help.played security system for mama Mabel van she was charging the battery but had things to do in downtown hope.so i went with her to make sure will she was doing thing, it was safe to leave the van running. got rewarded a diary queen pop for my effort .to end on a creepy note.the guy staying next door in the hostel asked me to shave his neck(yuck!!!) of course i said no among other things.

getting internet connected tomorrow cant wait.last week, they changed all the channels here in hope,even through i love the picture quality, i hate the fact that we lost our movie central channels(ugh!!!the pain).a dear friend of mine gordon headed to prince George last night,to be with his mom( she's 82),even through it sad to see a family member leave i wish him well.Mabel son dropped by for a visit,this guy is a serious multi tasker.stu from thomas and stu (two young filmakers) also came by the mount hope,to say hi and to announce his engagement, (congrats stu)

we had the yard sale mentioned in the late blog,made forty bucks that should buy a few hot dogs, for the tenants.scored a stereo out of the whole deal, for free. record player doesn't work but everything else does so who's to complain.well maybe one compliant, nobody wanted my lemonade was a buck a glass to much to ask???double congrats go out to mr smith for for shattering all records in seattle, and to mabel grandson chris for getting engaged.

been an amazing week so far,got my 100 dollars from the government (something they call an environmentally tax credit),i look it it this way its a free 100 bucks(LOL).my modem for my new laptop came just 3 days after ordering it.my three amazing travellers,one going to nelson and the other two are going to the okangan(sp)they stopped at mama Mabel for directions to the nearest soup kitchen and ended up with a bite to eat.we exchanged e-mails hope they stay in touch.spritly speaking,iam sad to report the man once know as Thorndike pickledish( walter wart)has given in to the worlds me,myself and i syndrome.hopefully he"ll make a fulll recovery soon

busy Friday, spent the day with my girlfriend and her four kids.first she treated me to lunch which made putting up with her kids at lot easier.(LOL).mabel has officially opened her new office at the mount hope.very nicely decorated.got my first phone bill today 50 bucks not bad,going to you rebate from phone company to pay for it.last event of the evening blogging and dinner at dan and patti's,we had cold pork sandwich for dinner with chips and coleslaw.

early in the morning of the 13th, i notice a cab pulling into the lot of the mount hope, happens all the time so i didn't think it was a big deal until he pulls on to the lawn with the others cars.turn out it my friend john.taking a smoke, newspaper break.apparently being a latenight cabdriver even in hope can be trying.got my phone yesterday,except when i woke up this morning the line was dead.so i phone the repair guy dale(god bless him) within two hours it was fixed.somebody at the office deleted the original program.so they had to program it again,doh!!! isn't technology great.

i know it only been a day since i lasted blogged but boy,alot things have happened since then.iam getting a phone tommorrow through telus(the local phone company).not only that iam getting wireless internet with a free dell laptop computer from them as well.even made some money out of everthing,sold my old laptop to landlady(warts and all)for 200 bucks,100 goes toward damage deposit for current place.not bad huh???

cant believe it been a week already since my birthday, i can feel the bones harding already.made my own entertaiment yesterday by heading into town(thanks mabel for the ride)and doing some visiting(thanks for the warns for feeding me).bad storm,hit hope last night.because of it my friend trish lost her gazebo, unfortunately thats not the only thing she lost her father(94 years old).94 is a good old age but losing loving one is still hard to take no matter how old.in two days it will be 12 years since my mom has passed on.love you mom

had my last birthday dinner at my friends patti amd dans place,f0ur kind of pizza an with cake for dessert, a 12 pack of choclate pudding,plus unicorn dust collectors for gifts. the pudding is my favorite.all in all this was one of my best birthdays to date.good luck to thorndike pickledish with his arizona adventures.

went to dinner like i said i would .thank you dan and patti for having me.tracie and mike warn was there with kids in tow whinch was fine until one kid bit the other one and blood was drawn.dont worry the bitten kid was only bitten on the finger,and didn't suffer any serious damage.tuesday is my 44 th bithday and i already recived two gifts already and i thank dearly the two people who thought of me.heard from an old friend of mine in the downtown eastide,stewart.nice to see they haven't forgotten me.after surfing iam off to the local pharmasave to buy a grad card for mabel grandson.via hss grad 2oo8

met mee(thanks fo the comment) for breakfast at daryls this morning,had great this catching up.by the way if your in toronto catch her boyfriend/husband matt playing the local blue grass festivals this week,i dont know the name of the festivals but iam sure if you look them up online you can find them. came home to find soup being handed that look more like salad after awhile.the local baptist church youth group brought it up.the young men involed in the soup giveaway are very devoted to their beliefs and i will leave it at that. going for dinner tommorow night to friends place. found we will be joined by my favorite couple the warns, now i really can't wait.well that it for now, hope it good enough.

well,as of this saturday, like the title suggests it will be two weeks since i been back,i guess when they say there no place like home they really mean it.the mount hope motel with it weird cast of characters(a 78 year old man who hasn't had a bath in years, and a ex green beret who fought in nam)and of course mama mabel. it feels right and safe(whinch i haven't felt in years).so on june 3 i turn 44,lord, pray for me as iam getting old

week one and abit

monday the 19 the a group of mennoites from chillwack served the mount hope complex, hot dogs and hamburgers under a big tent.lucky they did as they to started to serve it it started to pour.hamburgers were a little soggy but food is food right.today the 2oth, running around dropping papers and trying to find adapters for my laptop,and getting libary card, and of course surfing.diane the head libarian annouced they have left over coffee and donuts from a program.so for once the libary is good for something besides books.

after the kaos of surrey and being homeless.and living off of mcdonalds coupons.i have settled into my new life here in hope.did i expect to be back in hope????no. it thought i finally found happiness.oh well makes for a great chapter in my book if i ever choose to right it.
